How do I add uploads to my app?
Start with Uppy, our open source file uploader. Add its Transloadit integration, save your processing steps in a Template, and generate upload signatures on your server. Follow the Uppy integration guide.
Can users resume uploads after a connection drops?
Yes. tus lets a transfer continue from where it stopped instead of uploading the whole file again. It is especially helpful for large files and unreliable connections. Learn about resumable uploads.
Which files can users upload, and how large can they be?
Users can upload images, videos, audio, documents, and other files. The processing steps you choose determine which formats can be converted. Maximum upload size depends on your plan; contact us about larger requirements. See the current file size limits.
Can users upload from cloud storage?
Yes. Uppy can offer cloud sources alongside local files and camera capture. Available sources depend on the plugins you configure, and users authorize access to their accounts. Explore upload integrations.
How do I protect my upload endpoint?
Keep your Auth Secret on your server and generate expiring signatures there. Use saved Templates to define processing, and add file filtering or virus scanning when your workflow needs it. Read the authentication guide.
Where do uploaded and processed files go?
Choose Transloadit Storage (beta) or save to your own storage, such as Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, or Google Cloud Storage. With Transloadit Storage, a separate storage account is optional. Ask us about Transloadit Storage availability. Default processing-result URLs are temporary; add a storage Step for files you want to keep. Does Transloadit include digital asset management?
The File Library (preview) offers digital asset management for browsing, organizing, previewing, and downloading files in Transloadit Storage. Access is enabled per Workspace. Assess approval workflows, rights management, and CMS integrations separately from these file-library capabilities. Ask us about File Library availability.
How can I estimate and control costs?
Rates vary by operation and usage. A soft bill limit sends alerts; once a hard limit is reached, new Assemblies are rejected. For larger workloads, ask about volume pricing and extra priority slots. Estimate your workflow costs.
