Accept studio uploads, supplier feeds, or imports from controlled storage. Record the product ID, source version, checksum, rights state, and intended destinations.
Lower monthly overhead by paying strictly for actual usage, letting you dynamically scale and reduce wasted spending.
Tap into a distributed infrastructure that handles large spikes effortlessly, ensuring low latency and high availability worldwide.
Implement ready-to-use workflows and automation for faster product rollouts, enabling a quicker return on investment.

Transloadit is a media processing API for e-commerce catalogs. It can validate supplier and studio files, automate controlled image and video edits, export approved derivatives, and deliver a controlled set of on-demand variants while your catalog system remains the source of truth.
Transform, resize, and watermark videos or animated GIFs to ensure smooth playback across devices.
Generate HLS and MPEG-Dash files with manifest and playlist support, providing quality video playback on any network.
Compress and streamline images while preserving quality, improving page load times and user satisfaction.
Apply brand logos or text overlays onto images and videos, securing ownership and preserving brand identity.
Automatically detect and quarantine malicious content to safeguard your platform against malware attacks.
Route or block files based on customizable rules such as file size, type, or virus scan results to enforce policies.
Bring in entire directories from S3, Azure, Dropbox, and more, automating ingestion and freeing local resources.
Distribute files across worldwide edge servers, ensuring minimal latency and fast access for end users.
We help commerce teams automate product image and video processing in one repeatable workflow, while the storefront, PIM, DAM, and merchandising team keep ownership of catalog decisions.
Catalog-media architecture
Treat product media as a versioned workflow. A successful Assembly—a completed processing run—is not the same as approval to publish. Across the workflow, establish clear owners, durable identifiers, and recovery paths.
Accept studio uploads, supplier feeds, or imports from controlled storage. Record the product ID, source version, checksum, rights state, and intended destinations.
Validate detected file properties, dimensions, and orientation against policy. Quarantine or reject unsupported and suspicious inputs before derivatives are produced.
Create named image sizes, modern formats, crop presets, video renditions, video poster frames, or watermarks from one saved Template parameterized with Assembly Variables.
Verify outputs and export them to the approved destination. Your commerce stack updates the catalog, manages publication state, and keeps prior versions for rollback.
One Transloadit Assembly can accept uploads or import product assets, validate observed file properties, fan out several image and video operations, export the results, and report structured status data. This is useful when the same product master must become controlled outputs for a storefront, marketplace, app, and advertising channel.
A saved Template can resize, crop, convert, optimize, and watermark product images, then fan out named sizes and formats from the same validated original. Add file filtering before those steps when a workflow must reject sources that do not match its format, dimensions, or other observed metadata policy.
The same workflow can encode product videos, create poster frames or thumbnails, and export image and video results together. The application still decides which rendition belongs to each product and sales channel.
Transloadit Smart CDN can import an original from application-controlled storage, run a saved transformation Template on a cache miss, and deliver the selected result through global edge caching. Use asynchronous Assemblies for fixed, approved catalog outputs and Smart CDN for a constrained set of variants whose demand is difficult to predict.
Choose Transloadit when product image edits belong in a repeatable workflow that also needs upload or import, file validation, several output variants, product video processing, or export to application-controlled storage. If the only requirement is URL-driven image resizing for assets already at an origin, a dedicated image CDN can be simpler.
Transloadit includes Smart CDN, a transformation and delivery layer for images, videos, documents, and other files. It complements application-controlled object storage; it does not replace a PIM, DAM, storefront, video player, or live-streaming platform.
Smart CDN can create and cache bounded, right-sized image variants and modern formats for storefront delivery. The commerce application still owns crawlable page markup, intrinsic dimensions, responsive image attributes, alt text, product structured data, canonical URLs, and the editorial decision that an image is appropriate to publish.
Preprocess derivatives that must exist before publication, require human approval, or must be exported and retained as immutable catalog outputs. Use on-demand delivery for a bounded set of presentation variants when cold-miss latency is acceptable and demand is difficult to predict. Many commerce systems use both paths.

Connect a storefront, PIM, DAM, or commerce backend through the REST API or an official SDK. Import originals from supported storage, run saved Templates, export approved derivatives, and write result references back through trusted integration code.
