Can we process sensitive financial documents with Transloadit?

Review your data requirements and the proposed workflow with our team before any sensitive files are sent, and evaluate with nonsensitive sample documents until then. File processing alone does not make your platform compliant with financial regulations; those controls stay with you.

Can we send payment card data?

No. Uploading files to Transloadit does not authorize payment card data processing. Keep card numbers with your PCI DSS-compliant payment provider and out of the documents you send for processing.

Can we choose where files are processed?

Yes. Pin each job to a US, EU, or Asia Pacific processing region, and export originals and outputs to storage you own in the region you choose.

How are customer documents protected?

Our API supports HTTPS to encrypt data in transit, and sensitive data at rest is encrypted with AES-256. Temporary processing copies are deleted automatically after 24 hours, and originals and outputs are exported to storage you own. Read the security overview

How do we make sure only our customers can upload?

Your backend authenticates each customer, then signs the upload request with an expiry, and with signature checking required, unsigned or altered requests are rejected. Filter Steps refuse the file types and sizes your onboarding flow does not accept, and virus scanning stops malware before a file reaches your storage. Read about Signature Authentication

What happens at month-end and during tax season?

Workers autoscale with demand, so there are no servers to provision for month-end closes, tax deadlines, or bulk statement imports. Your plan’s Priority Job Slots set how many jobs run at once; additional work queues instead of failing, and support can add Priority Job Slots ahead of a planned peak.

Is extracted text used to approve applications?

No. Transloadit returns OCR text as Assembly results. Your platform decides where it goes, and we recommend human review of anything an onboarding, credit, or payment decision depends on.

Is Transloadit an identity verification or document management system?

Neither. Transloadit is the processing layer between your uploads and your storage. Identity verification, fraud checks, case management, and access control stay in your platform and the providers you already use.
